Great place for view & fresh air but be warned if your a beginner skater don't go as there's nothing to hold onto & the staff will ask you why are you here if you can't skate, take care this is no shopping mall with an ice rink kids!

Ice is bumpy and not cleared regularly, too many peopel skating at once. will close with out notice.

if you go up the hill past the rink and look down towards Alamaty you can see why its such a symbolic feature

Better to go in early morning. Very fresh and healthy air, I like forests and firs. The rink opens for skating since october through march. In summer you can get inside and rent a bycicle or rollers. Good place for visiting with children. From there possible to take a car to Shymbulak (30-40 minutes in one side), and to watch...

Medeu is have to be our proud! Last year there were a reconstraction, however the level of it not so good. In any case good ice cover, big stadium, open air - all that you need for a good weekend with your family, friends. During many years I went there every weekend!
