The activities provided was somewhat average but if u try to enjoy the moment and ignore the negativity u will find it enjoyable. Feed the elephant, get to know them, ride on them and shower with them. U cant find it everyday. But the souvenirs are limited. I enjoyed my time there and missed the big boys. :)

We went to the sanctuary in April 2012. I was a little concerned from some of the reviews here that we would not enjoy it, but I'm pleased we went, it was one of the highlights for me and my family. I was expecting a run down sort of place, but the buildings were in great condition, and the place... More

Accustomed to seeing elephants from an early age I was slightly saddened to see these beasts as they are kept, more like performing creatures than kings of the jungle. Having said that it would be a great experience for children. We went as a couple, probably disillusioned by the world. Very little explanation is offered as to what will happen... More

We recently visited the elephant sanctuary and what a special day it was! First of all we did not go with a tour company, far from it. We went with Zali, (the elephant man) he picked us up from a station in Kuala Lumpur, he drove us all the way to the sanctuary, while telling us all about the great... More

This isn't a sanctuary, this is a place where elephants are taught to perform tricks and you clap. Firstly you watch a very sad film about how they 'rescue' the elephants, no vet present, and it's very brutal, I don't doubt they are doing it to help the animals but if the likelihood is the elephants die at the end... We (family with two teenagers) took a day trip to Batu caves, Deerland and Elephant Sanctuary. (We booked a personal minivan with CK - fabulous driver, see Taxi FAQ for his details - which was cheaper than 4 tour places and far more flexible). The Elephant Sanctuary was much better developed than some previous reviews had suggested. New ticket centre,... More

I think the fact that the elephants are chained up says it all... added to the fact that they are then paraded around like toys... if you do genuinely love animals DON'T go here. For a real and honest elephant experience (amongst other animals) spend a day or more volunteering at wfft.org in Thailand. It is not a tourist show,... More

Went there after lunch. The young elephants were in a bath. The elephants seems keep touch the chains at their legs with their trunks. There were no shows or any free roam touching at that time even we have waited for 2 hours. The park is is far into the remote area and small road. Entrance is free. Only seen... More

Kids will totally love it! the feeding, the elephant shows, and you have to wait till the bathe-with-the-elephant-session. Totally worth the day. No entry fee (its a govt subsidised attraction). A chance to get really close to an elephant you cant get anywhere else. The centre is open for donations. Bring a spare change of clothes and towel if you... More

Bathing with the elephants, that was the highlight of the visit. It is free ok, so do not expect too much. Once your expectation is calibrated you will enjoy it. The drive from the city took 1.5 hrs along scenic highways. At certain stretch you have tropical forest on both sides. Malaysian highways are world class with clean and well... More
