This visit in the heat of the afternoon was delightful and shady. Beautifully laid out with large trees and water features, monkeys and all, it was lovely and cool with interesting plants and trees to see on your walk.

As a resident here this park is a nice place to go early morning (opens at 5am) or in the evening for a run or other exercise. For visitors I'd say it's nice to visit but don't expect too much. I have already referred to it as a park and that's more what it is really, very little by way... More

About 5 pm to 7pm, especially during weekends, you will see many local Penang people jogging, walking and exercise here. Beware of the monkeys, if you have food on your hand, better get rid of it or the monkey will rob you! It is not permitted to feed the monkey but some people may not be aware of the sign... More

I suspected something different when we got here -> a really nice garden, but it was more like a parc. There were some nurseries, but all closed. Oh, and when you're going to these place by bus it takes an hour from Komtar. I think walking along the boulevard is faster.

Like many 'locals', as an ex-pat this part of the island is a 'must' for rest, relaxation and vigorous excersise - if that's what you're looking for. Just don't get killed in the rush as it's extremely popular among Penang's residents.

A lovely peaceful place to visit and it's beautifully maintained. It's also free to get in. You can pay a few ringgits for a road train around to get your bearings or if you'r short of time.mtherebare a couple of places where you can stop for a drink or an ice cream. As the signs say don't get too close... More

We reached there at 4:30pm and it was sizzling hot. Therefore, we took the tram which cost about RM2 per adult. Although we were sweating profusely, we were still able to enjoy it. The garden was well maintained and organized. The sign boards were well shown. Most of the plants were well labeled. Although it was hot, the overall environment... More

We visited the gardens early on a Sunday morning in February 2012 and it was brilliant. We enjoyed our walk amongst the locals and enjoyed sitting and watching and absorbing the beauty of the gardens and the people. Tip - wear comfortable walking shoes and take water (or buy some on the way in).
