Should go into and have a look if have time. The building itself is impressive with the peak of Mt Kinabalu as the background. Just stop at the corner in front of the Entrance of the Park is one of the best shot.

The Poring hot springs weren't too special - we were given a private hut with a bathtub in it, when really we wanted to sit outside looking out onto the jungle! The canopy walk was fantastic - some amazing views both across the treetops and down onto the forest floor. Getting there on public transport was more difficult than anticipated... More

We didnt have time to go up the mountain, but thought we should at least visit the park. We were disappointed. We had a short tour around some plants, walked the canopy walkway (little to see and very short) then went to the Poring hot springs, which were lots of small bath tubs which took a lifetime to fill.

We love the botanical garden walk and the nice picturesque point where you can take pictures of Mt. Kinabalu. It's quite cold and best bring your trekking shoes along.

This is a very special place. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and boasts a massive array of plant and animal species that make it unique in its bio-diversity. You can also climb Mount Kinabalu and at more than 4000m experience breath-taking views at day-break across Sabah province.

My advice would be to skip the trails around the park HQ and go straight up to Timpohon Gate and trek the Summit Trail. It's gorgeous!

Had booked a tour up with Amazing Borneo. Had a free lunch at The Rainforest Cafe but the food was budget. Walk through the Poring Hotsprings while on the way up to the suspension bridge. Gonna walk up 550m to reach so quite tough for some people and the air is thin. Total 5 bridges link to different trees. Can... More
