I was extremely disappointed with the WHOLE poring Hot springs area. My time was really wasted and I could have visited other places worthwhile. I felt that this place is such a rip off and a scheme to get as much $ out from you. Every few hundred yards, you have to pay and pay, For each camera, be it... more

Well, this will depend on your previous experiences. If you've been to the lovely onsens of Japan or Banff springs in Canada say, you'll be severely disappointed. I was with a large group of Japanese who all stuck their noses up in disgust and refused to go in. They are basically tiled or concrete pots you can sit in, that... more

Poring hot springs for three days/two nights. This will allow you to unwind and soak away the pains. You may not be able to walk properly for around two or three days in most cases and three days at Poring is the key. One day is too rushed. I stayed at the Jungle lodge and found it beautiful and very... more

I think we choose the wrong day to attend the poring hot springs... it was a public holiday and thus very very crowded and as a woman (with very white skin and red hair) there was no way i was getting into those baths with so many men staring at me. The design is quiet cute, round baths cut into... more

Having visited the hot springs in Kenya, i was expecting to see an open field with puddles of hot water bubbling away. Admittedly I saw the Kenyan hot springs in around 1990 so things could have changed. The poring hot springs in Kota Kinabalu were so sanitised with tiled "tubs" that you can stand in, that it really did feel... more

After a tiring climb of Mount Kinabalu, you'll definately want to come here to soak away all the achiness and pamper yourself in this hot springs. I feel fresher and energize after a half day soaking in it! Definately worth it! more

The butterfly farm is great for taking photographs but wear a hat and bring an umbrella because the sun can be really scorching. I skipped the canopy walk partly because I was nervous about the height and why must they charge rm5 just to bring a camera into the area? The baths - skip them. They looked unhygienic. more

The trek up the hill is quite slippery and steep in places and more humid here than Danum valley, so quite exhausting if you're not super fit. Not really an easy walk as some brochures describe. The canopy walk was ok but you're not likely to see much wildlife in the middle of the day. As it had been raining... more

We visited the Poring Hot Springs, Canopy Tree-Top walkway and Waterfall whilst travelling from Kota Kinabalu to the Sepilok Nature Reserve. The springs are natural and you can, if you wish participate in bathing in the water, either in a public type pool or in a private cabin. The water, where it initially comes out is extremely hot and apparently... more

Our trip to the Poring Hot Springs was supposed to be the relaxation segment after a 2 day climb up and down Mt Kinabalu. We had hoped to soothe our tired leg muscles in the natural hot springs and to relax after the strenuous climb. What eventuated was that (1) We never used the hot springs; (2) we were not... more
