After reading the reviews I looked forward to a great snorkeling experience. In fact most of the coral is dead and thus there are a limited number of colored fish. People feed the smaller fish from the dock and sometimes the fish came up to me when I was snorkeling, looking for food! This is a great place to learn... more

Tunku Abdul Rahman (TARP) Marine Park is made up of the islands / palaus of Manukan, Mamutik, Sapi, Sulug and Gaya, that can be easily reached from Kota Kinabalu. You can choose to go on an organised tour or arrange a boat from either Jesselton Point or Shangri-la Tanjung Aru. If you fancy a walk around the lowland rainforest on... more

I took the "5 Island Day Trip" here, that stops at 3 islands, and goes close to two others. Really worth it. The snorkling was great at the first two islands, but not that great at the third one, I think called Manukan Island, but it was pretty there. The boat also stopped somewhere where we went fishing for about... more

Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park consists of a number of islands in the South China Sea off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah. It is a magnificient marine park where the diving is apparently world class. We do not dive but the people we spoke to the day we were there were from many different countries and... more
