If you like star fish, this is the place to see plenty of them! Lunch at the restaurant is also delicious.

PROS: renting a bike from Bocas down and biking for two hours to Bocas del Drago/Starfish Beach is an excellent way to spend a day. The bike ride towards the beach is a little strenuous, particularly in the heat, but the payoff is a nice white-sand beach with no waves, clear blue water and reasonably abundant marine life (including the... You get dropped off at a separate beach then its about a 20-30 mins hike along the shore and sometimes thru the jungle to get to Starfish Beach. You can take a water taxi for a couple bucks if you want but we didn't bother. The beach is kind of ugly to be honest, they have all these tents set... More

We took a mini bus that left at 2pm from the park in Bocas Town. We paid $5 pp rt and he wanted it upfront. We were a bit Leary to give it to him, but he came back promptly at 5pm to get us as we asked. From drago beach it is about a 30 - 40 minute walk... More

Not many star fish. People pick them up, which kills them.mwater is calm. Beach is narrow. There are better beaches in this area, such as Playa Bluff

The sea was really clear and clean, unfortunately though the weather was a bit disappointing but these are things that happen. Even though there where at lot of people at the beach it did not feel crowded. One could also buy a drink from the stalls available. Personally I thought I would see more starfish since I only managed to... More

This beach was great. The bus journey from the main town was $5 each return and took around half an hour to the other side of the island, so you got to see a lot more of the island on the journey. When you get to the beach there are a number of restaurants and you can then walk for... More

Bocas del Drago was the best part of Bocas del Toro! It's a short bus ride from Bocas town, and the water is super clear. Walk past the houses and restaurants and you will be treated to empty beach, lined with palm trees. if you walk far enough you will get to the starfish beach, which has starfish all over.... More

Starfish beach was really pretty with crystal clear water and soft sand. There were some really large starfish and we even saw a stingray. Bocas del drago a bit further down didn't have much to offer than a couple of restaurants. There was no real beach to lay out on here.
