Caravan's 8 day (actually, more like 6 day) tour of the Panama Canal and adjacent countryside as offered April 22, 2012 was an outstanding trip. The tour was accurately described in detail online and in the Caravan brochure. Most importantly, the tour director, Danyia, was excellent and the weather was good. The hotels; Courtyard Marriott, Radisson Summit Resort, Playa Blanca... More

Our second time through the Panama Canal locks - this time on Island Princess, Princess Cruise Lines. Awesome! The locks never fail to educate. Bill Falls, a lecturer on our ship, talked us through the entire process, adding so much color to our cruise. The future opening of the new set of locks for larger ships will be exciting.

This was our first Caravan Tour and overall we were pleased. Our guide Oniel was excellent and it gave us a great appreciation for the canal. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to know more about the canal. The thing that it lacked was that there was so more to Panama than the canal and we didn't see much... More

Robtad's Tours are fantastic! Roberto and his wife own Robtad's Tours. We were met at 7:30AM as we exited the Carnival Freedom. We got a first hand view of the Panama Canal at Gatun Locks, we not only saw the ships passing through the locks but also saw where the new set of locks are under construction. We even walked... We entered the Panama Canal from the Caribbean side on a Holland America cruise ship. This entry was pretty amazing in itself but we only got through the Gatun locks and docked on Gatun Lake. We left the ship and went by bus for about 45 minutes to Gambao where we boarded a much smaller ferry for a 5 hour... More

We took the Holland America - Zuiderdam cruise to the Panama Canal. The ship only entered the Gatun Lock from the Carribean Sea. Then turned around and went to Colon. We took a tender from Gatun Lake to a bus waiting for us to finish the tour of the Canal on a Ferry. It was amazing how the operation of... More

Because we were on a cruise, we were limited in the time we had to see the city of Colon. So, we hired a cab driver (David Wilson of Sharayn Tours) to take us around his city and show us what the tour guides won't. It was very informative, especially the freeport and slum areas. We also went shopping at... More

We took a cruise on the Island Princess from Ft Lauderdale. The reason for the cruise was to go thru The Panama Canal. Our ship went thru the Gatun Locks which were very interesting since we were behind a Container Ship. We transfered to a Ferry boat which took us thru the Pedro Miguel Locks and by the Galliard Cut.... More

We've travelled with Holland American Cruise Line before, and never had a tour like this...It started with a bus ride, the seats on the bus were too small for Adults. So, we were uncomfortable. Driven to an old delapidated army barracks and then through streets littered with garbage and down a treacherous road to a rest stop, the Men's Room... More
