this is one of the best-looking churches i've been to in my life and i've been to quite a few. it truly deserves to be declared a world heritage site. the facade is quite impressive with its carvings while the inside of the church is even better. this church is worth a visit if you ever go to iloilo.

Getting there takes about an hour and a half from downtown Iloilo. We visited Molo Church before going to Miagao Church, therefore took a jeepney to Molo and then a jeepney to Miagao. Fare from Molo to Miagao was Php50 per person. Going back to Iloilo city proper, across the church ride the jeep to Mohon Terminal then take the... More

I went to Miag-ao Church just after Christmas 2011 during my stay in Iloilo City because I am a historian and it's on my bucketlist (to see all the UNESCO sites). This church is one of Iloilo's oldest and most renowned, and certainly most intriguing architecturally speaking. Perhaps one of Iloilo's downfalls is that there's a grand cathedral or historical... If you like history, and would love to see what the Spanish legacy left behind in the Philippines, do visit this church. It really deserved its status as a UNESCO heritage site. Intricate architecture and its design alone has a wow factor that many usual churches lack.

Visiting this heritage site was worth it despite waking up at 4am. I hope they could have more lights to brighten the corners and images in inside (in case it's not against its preservation)

This was indeed a very unique Church with a feature - rich facade.Unfortunately it was closed when we went there so we were unable to look inside. This chuch is actually around 1 hour from Iloilo city via the Miag-ao jeep. There was really nothing else to do except to take pictures hehe but the resulting pictures were very nice.... More
