Still names abound and at exorbitant prices but a lot of competition in stores, malls, and one off shops scattered in the city so the mystic and 'special' place is now not so set above others. Still worth seeing and the nouveau rich strutting their stuff. An experience

We ate at one of the restaurants here - after touring the different departments and admiring the displays. We didn't buy anything but it all looked beautiful. The restaurant itself - one on the top floor serving buffet style - was one of the least expensive meals we had in Russia. The only drawback was once the store closes (10PM)... More

This is a beautiful centre but expensive by European standards . When I was there the shops were empty and if you went in the staff tended to stare and make you feel uncomfortable. It seems like a centre for wealthy mistresses.

Nice place to just walk around even if you don't plan on buying anything. Nice setting and architecture, and did I mention that they have clean free restrooms?

Excellent shopping centre. Beautyfull architecture. Medium and high end brands. You can find shops with a medium price level like Zara, but also very expensive brands. It's worth to visit it, even if you don't go shopping. Nice cafe's.I love this place.

It is worth a walk around in the GUM - it is very beautiful on both he inside and out, but the shops in there are very pricey and just like at home.

Do try the food hall on the ground level; the Russian candies are lovely, as is the variety of champagnes/wines. Besides that, this is just another department store.

In Sovjet time it was biggest shopping center in all former Sovjet Union. Now it's just one of typical mall which you can find in any country.
