“Cathedral rebuilt almost from scratch; be sure to hear the organ!”

It is a light, beautiful cathedral - a landmark of the City. That' s where the newly-wedds go to have their photo taken (the bridge leading to cathedral is covered with love keys). rebuillt as destroyed- + now designed thks to the soviet union as an architectural museum without the original altars.shame it is no longer a church but given most of the centre has been rebuilt with soviet ugly blocks- worth a visit anyway...

Without a doubt the Cathedral situated on the island Kneiphof on the Pregolya River has to be the most important visitor site in the city. From the burnt-out shell that remained after the Allied bombing raids on Koenigsberg late in WW II the building has been totally restored to an incredibly high standard, the stained glass windows in the west...
