I was fortunate enough to have a short and pleasant 2-hour visit to Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art in May 2011. We spent the afternoon here yesterday and loved it! It is far better then the average small town art museum. The permanent collection features some beautiful landscapes and portraits by Japanese painters that were really very good. Heizo Hanyama and the Itoko Jinnaka paintings made it well worth the trip.
