This is a pretty great place to walk around andy a leisurely pace and just enjoy yourself. There's shops, a ferris wheel, some monuments from the Kobe earthquake and a great view of Kobe - plus your on the water, which is extremely nice! There's a great breeze and it's nice to just take in the scenery and relax. It... More

This is a great place to spend a hot summer evening: walking between Meriken Park and Mosaic Garden, sitting at the edge of water and watching boats with colorful lights, ... we had a great time.

Very nice well laid out tourist area. Alot of shopping and dinning. Many things to do including visiting the Kobe port tower, the marine museum, taking a cruise on Concerto or any other sightseeing ships, walking on the harbour front, watching the sunset. There used to be an amusement park and ferris wheel but as of May the amusement park... More

Nice place to walk and spend time, in front of harbour, to soak in the fresh air and breeze. Ample cafes, restaurants and walking space. For retail therapy, there is a big mall and department store. Uniqlo has an outlet here too. Near the Kobe Harbourfront where the exhibits of the last 1995 earthquake are exhibited - interesting video of... More

Well, ok for foreigners it is just a bunch of shops and places to eat, they are indeed more fancier. We liked one where you could create your own icecream.

We visited on 18th December 2011. It was my husband's birthday and we decided on a day trip from Osaka to Kobe. We visited many sights in Kobe during the day and then went to Harbourland for dinner. The Christmas atmosphere was wonderful with all the lights. There were quite a few shops and some good looking restaurants for you... More

Beautiful port, nice and friendly people. Could sense the warmth in Kobe(which i can't really feel it elsewhere in japan). Bad thing is the cheapest transportation- the city circle loop bus wasn't that efficient. Always behind time and over-crowded. Streets are busy and jammed too, so prepare to wait for the bus at the stop. Nevertheless, the bus covers almost... More

We took the train from Osaka to Kobe as an excursion for the kids to have rides at the Kobe Harbourland. They had fun, nothing much for the adults. Food at the connected Mosaic offered much choices but would advise not to visit on a Sunday and fight the jams with the local crowds.

Spent a day visiting the harbour area, nice shops (but a bit pricey), strange experimental boats, a replica of an old sailing ship "Santa Maria) that Christopher Columbus sailed into Kobe Port and had a nice lunch in the Kobe Port Tower (second floor)
