One of the beautiful caves in KL and we loved to see the lord Muruga statue. It is a Hindu holy shrine and all tourists are also visiting this place. As mentioned on the other reviews the maintenance of the caves is so bad and need to improve lot. I don’t know how they are managing hundred thousand people on... more

We watched in horror as the Indian Temple keeper threw his lunch wrappings for the monkies to take and shred. This cave would be amazing if the concrete temple, tacking souvenir shops, metal railings and gawding paint work where removed - along with the temple keeper. Worth visiting to climb the steps and be amazed at the skills of the... more

The caves themselves are well worth seeing but as mentioned in other reviews they are dirty and the upkeep needs to be better with so many visitors. (Having said that there is no charge so maybe donations are the only way of maintaining). Their natural beauty (which is amazing) is diminished due to tacky souvenier shops and stalls. The shrines... more

it's like an abandon shrine, very dirty and odorous. if you are suffering from respiratory ailments, don't go here unless you bring your own inhalers, it really smells bad . more

Then we went out to Batu Caves – a Hindu temple North of the city. After climbing 272 steps to the top, it was quite a sight! It’s built into the natural caves and is lit by holes in the cave ceilings. We were there in the early afternoon, and the stairs were shaded by the rock, so it wasn’t... more

It does not cost anything to walk 272 steps up to the temple and caves, half way you can do a 30 minute cave tour for 35ringit which includes putting on gumboots and helmet and a tour guide. The tour of the cave was the highlight for me as the guide was very animated. When reaching the top for a... more

I took a taxi to get to the Batu Caves. If you can manage to open the meter, it costs around 12 RM from Bukit Bintang area. If you want the driver to wait for you, he should charge 20 RM per hour. There are 272 steps to go to get to the caves. The statue next to the caves... more

We got a budget taxi to the caves which was a really option, the taxi driver waited for us. I was really looking forward to seeing the caves and was a bit disappointed when we went into them. From the outside you can only marvel at the beauty of the huge hindu god and the large amount of stairs (272).... more

The Batu Caves are definitely worth the visit when travelling to Kuala Lumpur. The rainbow of colours from the Hindu temple mixed with the backdrop of the limestone caves provides a spectacular site to be seen. The main Batu Cave itself is free, but we were told by our taxi driver to visit the temples in the caves at the... more
