More for souvenirs than general market fare. Has a food court. Even toe-nibbling fish. Worth a visit.

If you are looking for bargains, this may not be the ideal place to shop in KL (given the time and effort required to get there). But if you yearn to see remnants of the British era in Malaysia, this could be a place worth visiting.

After the hustle and bustle of China Town (Jelan Petaling) it was lovely to stroll around Central Markets in the air conditioning. Lots of souveniers, clothes and wooden artifacts, all good prices and lots of variety. Easy walk from monorail train to China Town and a little bit further along to the indoor markets. Lots of things to see along... More

This place is easily accessible by train, bus and taxi... Since it is an air conditioned enclosure, you will not feel exhausted after the shopping.. The prices are reasonable for some items. You need to really go through, select and compare the prices with other places in KL (you need time). There are some good food joints in the complex... More

This is a great place to find souvenirs, they sell various goods from the local craft, to crafts imported from other part of asia. first rules: haggle, altough not so much compared to the chinatown / petaling street. The place is quite comfortable to stroll around because it's air conditioned, You may also enjoy the art deco architecture of the... More

Many of the shops sell items from elsewhere in Asia and with less selection but it does capture the local flavor and is worth a visit.

Central Market is fantastic for souvenirs, selling a variety of goods such as traditional clothes, trinkets, wooden carvings, batik, bags, tshirts. Ask the seller for the price, it should be less than what is labelled on the item. You'll be able to haggle but not as much as at Jalan Petaling. It is also air conditioned and has a food... More

This was a nicely set out market area. It was more about souvenir than a bustling market. Its worth the look

If you are looking for things that are Asian in KL, this is a great place to visit. Haggle with the stall holders to get a reasonable price. There are trinkets, but there are also good quality products which are authentic and of a great variety and origin - Malaysia, China, India (reflecting the background of the country) as well... More
