We'll this place has been a tourist attraction, for ages. You will be able to see the fish in different sizes and colors... the atmosphere is filled with the smell of Fish,.. but overall a good place to visit. The fish there are very fresh, regularly new stock comes in every 3 hours or so..

Disappointingly our tour of Male was a little lacking with the few places they have to take you. Fish Market, Fresh fruit & Veg market, Mosque, Government House and Presidents Home and shops. Simply walk in to see the fish being unloaded from the harbour and prepared for sale. There were all sorts of fish there, including huge swordfish and tuna. The fishmongers prepare (gut) the fish before your eyes, using chainmail glove and evil looking super-sharp knives. It's relatively clean, but, hey, dead fish smell!
