I had a great tour, and I have repeated my tour. I believe that the nooks and crannies tour is the most interesting part of the tours offered. It is very nice in the spring when the gardens are coming into bloom. It is a nice slice of Akron's History. more
This place is a hidden gem! Staffed entirely by volunteers, its publicity comes from website and word of mouth. We took in an afternoon tea set in the 20's. The grounds, the buildings, and locals dressed in character , brought into a reality of what life of the well-to-do was like in that period. It was great fun! Hats off... more
We have visited and enjoyed Stan Hywet many, many times over the years, since it was first opened to the public and not in the fine state it now enjoys, The children we took there when they were five or six are now taking their children their and have since they were little.
