Took my 2 year old to the park to play in the playground and ride the Zilker Zephyr train. Dipped our feet in the river-- such a nice place to spend a morning.

We had a great time here and here is a lot to do. Swimming pool and train ride were hits with kids and adults alike. Good time for the whole family.

Get out to the river and rent a kayak or a canoe. This is not to be missed. The water is very clean, unlike any urban river that I've ever seen. You can sometimes even see turtles along the edges of the river. The view from the river towards downtown Austin is also pretty nice. If you're lucky, a freight... More

Zilker Park is a great urban getaway on the south side of Town Lake. There are a variety of activities from kids playgrounds to theatre to live music concerts in a variety of styles.THis is a nice break from the traffic, which has intensified greatly in Austin over the past decade.Recommended.Especially when the weather is nice!

A huge, green space to hang out and enjoy the weather. There are sand volleyball courts (sometimes with league competitions going on) and it's also a popular spot to fly kites or play any sports for that matter. We just hung out and people-watched but it's a great way to spend any good weather day.

WOW! This is one of the best parks I've been to. I wish I lived in Austin as I'd spend many days here just enjoying it.
