We took the kids and really enjoyed learning about Texas. The weather movie is very interesting and explained a lot about the weather (which is crazy!!). I also enjoyed learning about how many different types of food that Texas produces. It is in a beautiful building.

Beautiful facility; lots to see; you can pay for for the "Spirit" movie or for both the movie and the museum.

This is a huge museum about Texas history that is a short walk from the capitol. The museum is free on the first Saturday of the month (not including the IMAX). The exhibitions are really well-done. There are several short films. There are interactive exhibits (e.g. computer screens with quizzes). The museum is enjoyable and informative for both kids and... More

This was a great trip with a lot of history. Go see the small Texas Theater "Wild Weather" narrated by Ray Wylie Hubbard! If you go here you should also visit the Susanna Dickinson Museum downtown.

Lots of exhibits of the various aspects of life in Texas. Updated a couple of times a year. Across street from Blanton Art Museum. On site parking garage but vans won't fit.
