We came to Austin to two-step. Was so ready to check this place out. We were so dissappointed that we didn't even stay. We got right back into the cab after peeking in. Who wants to dance with the lights brightly on? It looked more like a family environment (which is nice for families)....just wasn't the night-life sort of atmosphere.... more

The Broken Spoke and Ginnys are the best clubs in Austin for real country music and local Austin music. Check them out. more

this was the worst food we had all trip. my cfs was tough and my wifes steak just tasted bad like it was old. i dont recommend anybody go eat here. more

On a holiday in Austin, a friend and I went to the Broken Spoke as a recommended country music venue. We both ordered food but my friend's steak was awful - totally inedible - she complained and the meal was taken away, there was no apology and they also tried to charge us for the meal! The place was packed... more

The floor is rickety, the ceiling is low, the chicked fried steak is greasy. I love this place. Families mingle with hipsters and dance to great live REAL country music. During South by Southwest when the place is inundated with tourists the owners wife tells gawkers, "get off the dance floor" and the dancing continues. If you want a true... more

Great Place, Great Music. Dale Watson is a great Musician. Love his music, and he writes most of his own songs. Very very talented. Everyone needs to hear this man. more
