A party of 4 had lunch at this historical place. In our book, it is over-rated. The food was O.K. and the waitress tried to be friendly, but we were all disappointed. Recommend eating at another restaurant. more

I took a party of 11 that included 4 Brits, 1 Canadian, and 1 Australian to historic Gadsby’s Tavern on 5/4/2009. We arrived around 7:00 PM without a reservation. Seating was promptly arranged for our group. Eighteenth-century music, Hogarth illustrations, and candlelight added to the dining experience. Service was outstanding. We started with draft beer and Sally Lunn bread which... more

My husband & I had dinner there awhile back & I can't wait to return! The ambience is authentic, & the crab cakes I had were mouth-watering. My husband was equally impressed with his meal. The vegetables were fresh, the service attentive. We're taking my mom their for her birthday & I'm counting the minutes! more

The dining room was lit by candles on the tables and in the windows and by a "candle-like" chandelier. The waiters/waitresses dress in Colonial garb. The food was great. We had... more

I moved to this area 7 months ago, and friends of mine were visiting this past weekend. We had brunch at Gadsby's Tavern this morning, and it was wonderful. The food and service and ambiance were fantastic. We loved the waiters' old-style outfits and the old decor of the restaurant rooms. The museum wasn't to open until 1:00, and my... more

We ate brunch at Gadsby's Tavern on a Sunday afternoon. The menu was simple, but tasty. I was with my 11 year old son, who ordered French toast. I ordered the eggs with smoked salmon. Both dishes were delicious, as were the corn bread muffins that accompanied them. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere in the old tavern very... more
