After a few hours on the motorcycle on Skyline Drive, we decided to check out some VA wineries. We love sweet wines and know its hard to find anything that compares to the ice wines of Niagara-on-the- Lake, but we sample a few wines at Gray Ghost and came home with a bottle of Adieu! Very nice late harvest that... More

My husband and I believe that Gray Ghost 'Ranger Reserve' is some of the finest wine in the world.

I went to Gray Ghost as part of a day-long winery tour. The people here were very friendly (and even took a picture of our group for us). Because we were a larger group they put us in a separate room for our tasting. Overall, it was a great experience and I enjoyed the wines as well.

Really enjoyed our tastings. Easily found using the winery maps they give you.

e happened to visit during a free tasting which was great. Instead of one long continuous bar, it was broken up to serving 4 but possibly 6 at a time. This was great as it gives more personal attention but requires more servers. They had a venison stew lunch but at $15 PP I felt it was kind of pricey.... More

This is what a winery should be - focus is on the wine, staff are knowledgeable. The owners work the vineyards as well as meet and greet their visitors. The tasting fee is reasonable since you get a number of different reds and whites.

We enjoy Gray Ghost's wines, especially their reds. Friendly staff, nice tasting room, a little bit of a history lesson involved too.

It's a nice place and the tastingselection is very good. They have some very good and interesting wines. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable and made the tasting very enjoyable.

Gray Ghost is a very pleasant stop while doing the winery circuit in Virginia. We stopped for a tasting ($3 / person) and got to sip a healthy taste of 10 wines! The tasting area is very open and somewhat more contemporary than other wineries (gets a bit echo-y with the conversation of tasters when full), but the service was... More

We dropped by today on our way back home to Chesapeake after visiting wineries in the Front Royal/Middleburg area, and found the wine, facilities, and staff to be delightful. We were served by Cathy, who is a middle school teacher during the week, and who was very knowledgeable of the wines, and extremely personable. We left with with a bottle... More
