We liked the vibe of the music, but be attentive. My friend got his watch stolen, ripped off his arm. Lots of drinking (we attended a free concert in the square). Not many tourists, mostly locals, so be careful (don't bring anything of value - no watches, jewellery, wallets, cameras....)

the beat. Unforgettable. Since Paul Simon recorded with them on "The Rhythm of the Saints", they still have the style.

We were lucky enough to see Olodum perform out front during Carnaval, it was amazing but if you are in Salvador outside of any festivities I still highly recommend going to have a listen to the sounds of Bahia.

Seeing Olodum was great fun! We saw them for free on a Tuesday playing in the street in the Pelo! They were awesome and it was great to see them (as I love MJ).

I went and watched Oludum. They were amazing and watching the audience 'line dancing' samba style was great too. Just watch your belongings. I had no problems but everyone told me that.

For those that enjoy dancing, there is nothing better than go dancing in one of the Olodum rehearsals!! I always take my friends from abroad there, and they ALL love it... It always happen in Pelourinho, the old town, during the summer. DONT MISS IT! They usually have it on Tuesdays evening and Sundays afternoon.

Felt very touristy and the drums were uncomfortably loud, and overall we enjoyed the live music we heard at night on the street much more, and it was substantially less expensive too. While the performers were undeniably talented, we didn't stay long because it got monotonous and was so loud, and wouldn't go back.
