This was on my list of things to see when visiting Rio and I wasn't disappointed! The thousands of tiles decorating the steps is a unique sight. The artist's gallery is in number 24 - it's very easy to walk past without noticing but definitely work a visit if you want to pick up a souvenir.

This one is for those who appreciate popular art. The stairs were decorated with colorful tiles, chosen at will by Selaron, an Uruguayan street artist who fell in love with Rio some decades ago, and became a wide known character in bohemian Lapa.
