Sao Conrado beach is simply stunning, the mountain backdrop is incredible. As a surfer I loved the waves there, they are powerful and have great shape. The only thing I will say is not to go in the ocean after it has been raining as it gets polluted then due to sewage run off from Rocinha, the nearby favela. But... more

Hang-gliding is a big deal in Rio...I did it, but we will discuss that later...The people who hang-glide all land on Sao Conrado beach. It's fun just to watch them...But, it's more fun to be the one hang-gliding. It's the most unique experience I've ever had.
