The actual tram experience is interesting & I´d recommend it if u have time to spare. Only 32 ppl can fit comfortably on the tram which travels every hour on the half hour, so you´ll be standing around for another 1hr, if you´re not one of the 32ppl. So different from the beaches, so quieter than the center, Santa Teresa is a lovely old-fashioned neighborhood and is definitely worth a visit. And the tram to get there is great fun and a must do in Rio. Loved it. more
Santa Teresa is a neighborhood in the middle of Rio de Janeiro...It is the oldest neighborhood in the city, dating back to the 1600's. It's very charming and offers awesome views. There is a little tram that runs through the entire neighborhood. I recommned asking a taxi to take you to the top of Santa Teresa ( it's a hill)... more
