Sambodrome was specially build to host the yearly Rio de Janeiro Samba School Parade. It's an unique spectacle in the world. Unbelievable. Don't miss it.

The most amazing part takes place here, Carnival, with the parades of the Samba Schools. One of the must-do things in life!

While tours will give you the opportunity to visit the Sambodromo year round it is a must during Carnaval for either the rehearsals (free) or the actual competitive parades (pricy but worth it). Great facilities for an unforgettable event.

Unless it's carnival the sambodrome isn't much too look at. Yes it's huge and impressive and you can imagine what it would be like in February but that's about it.
