If you have free time stop by the Jardim Botanico. It's very nice. However, more tourist than I would like for a tranquil experience.

Few people know the place but it is probably the nicest forestry area close to the city. Short drive from to the Subway (Conceicao Station). A must go, for Paulistanos, Brazilians and Foreigners.

The botanical garden is a very large park where you can go for a picnic, some photographic exercises (or even to take some pictures of the several plants and flowers there), or just to read a good book in the quiet of the place.
