The boat was so noisy that you couldn't talk to the person next to you. Seats extremely uncomfortable. Only a few life jackets. People were smoking next to the gasoline barrels. Boat listed and was generally unsafe.

Not a cosy, safe, western experience - but unforgettable. One of the most amazing trips we did, or endured, in 3 months in SE Asia. Do it - it won't be comfortable, it may not meet western safety standards, but you will see a whole way of life unique to Tonle Sap lake.
