I recommend to visit winery of Santa Cruz ( buy this excursion in hotel Santa Cruz) with special museum on the mountain and a funicular. And degustation of red wine---must do!
They know their wines in COlchagua. And it's worth to know them! Here a few among the best red wines of Chile are produced. If only the wine route was better signposted... find one's way around the different wineries is not always easy...
The finest wines in Chile are found on this route without doubt. The wine in La Postolle is excellent, but the guide speaks English too fast to be understood properly and it is hard to contact them as they rarely seem to pick up the phone! Viu Manent is one of my favorites for the friendly service and good value...

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week in the Colchagua Valley. We had rented a car in Santiago and organized our own tour. We started with Laura Hartwig winery which is next to TerraVina where we stayed.(a lovely hotel). The owner of TerraVina arranged for us to rent bikes the next day at Las Ninas winery....
