Huangshan Mountain or Yellow Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in China, therefore one of the most popular tourist destinations as well. Domestic Tourists flock here by the thousands every day, particularly in peak seasons to see the amazing scenery of cliffs, rock formations and valleys. This is where you need some inside running on when to attend!... more

After having to postpone the trip twice due to foul weather, we finally were able to get reports of good weather. Huangshan, Yellow Mountain, is where the scenes of huge bamboo from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were filmed, and I was very excited about We arrived by train, stayed overnight at a small hotel (that did not like the fact... more

This is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in China (probably number one in my books for now). I came from Nanjing and took a 4 hour bus ride to Huang Shan... If reckless driving bothers you -- make sure you find something that can distract you. The bus driver drove pretty reckless at times, sometimes making... more

Our plan was to go up the eastern route, stay overnight at Beihai hotel, see the sunrise the next morning before descending via the western route. Well, it rained all day the day we went up, so I can’t tell you anything about the views around Beihai. The fog was thick as soup the next morning, so I can’t tell... more

Absolutely Amazing!!! This place is really one of the coolest places I have been. The climb up the mountain and then walking around the peak area to look out for miles was such a great experience. I spent the first day climbing up the eastern steps and then the second day climbing down the western steps with an overnight at... more

If you are visiting China, chances are you are visiting Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou or Nanjing. And if you are visiting these cities, chances are you will also be looking for a chance to escape the hustle and bustle for a few days. Yellow Mountain (Huang Shan) and the surrounding Huizhou villages are a great place to do this. Even though... more

We visited Huangshan Mountain in August 2008. We did not join a group, but went on our own because we don't like to wait for a group while walking around. One observation was that there are different paths to take in the park, but there is no clear sign where to go. So, you may end up walking for some... more

We just returned from 3 day 2 night trip to Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in China. The park is fantastically beautiful, with vistas of pine and mountain peaks drifting above clouds and mist with many waterfalls. It truly looks exactly like all those Chinese paintings. The walkways are very well contructed and constantly tended, so although there are many steps this... more

We went up Yellow Mountain today and as a previous review mentions the new cable car on the East side is amazing. No queues at about 730am when we went up but there were loads of tour groups on the East side of the mountain ahead of us which made the first couple of hours frustrating (maybe the West side... more
