Maybe because the overview of the show is so far on the river, that most of it is being lost , being regarded as a miniature show. Also, I find that there is not enough light to be able to see well ,in this wonderful venue sorrounded by mountains

Designed by the architect of the Opening Ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics, this show demonstrates the Chinese talent for precision beautifully. The location is fabulous--the show takes place on a lake and includes hundreds of performers. Each night about 3,000 watch the show from outdoor seats that are in tiers to capitalize on the view. The show is in Chinese...

I'm usually not into these kinds of things but I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed this show. First of all, the backdrop is jaw dropping gorgeous and the enormous water stage is really cool. I was also amazed at the number of people in the production - over 600!!! It's produced by the same man who produced the Opening...

A few years ago I watched a similar night show in Xian, China which talks about the love affair of a King of Tang Dynasty with a lady who was one of the four beauties of China. To my surprise, I shed tears during watching. That performance is simply amazing. Scale large and storyline clear, expressing live, love, separation, death....

This was good, but not great. The concept was good and parts were impressive, but overall, it is a bit overrated.
This was a big disappointment compared to the other Impression Shows we saw. (Hangzhou was incredible, Lijiang was unforgettable in the most magnificent mountain setting) This had no story, was difficult to see because the action at times was far away, a great many of the audience were video recording or taking flash pictures which made it hard to "see"...

I guess my imression might be better but it was spoiled by rough time I had trying to get in. crowd is enormous. didnt appreciate also that people were smoking before and during the show. yeah, it s open-air but still, guys, we are sort of in the public place, kind of theatre, huh? also expect people speaking on the...

Our guide insisted we go to the second performance. There are two each evening each attracting audiences of 4000. We were impressed by the systems in place to assemble and move people to the seating in such as manner that the out going audience was avoided. The cast numbers 600 and the natural back drop is stunning. See the show...

We left this early as we thought the content slow, the effects mediocre, and the overall experience poor. I would not wait around in Yangshuo especially for this attraction, rather I would have headed back to Guilin if I had the time back.
The show is impressive for the sheer number of performers but I was underwhelmed for what I expected it to be. I think I had either been played up too much or we were simply exhausted from having our day start at 6AM. It's probably worth a go nonetheless for the pure spectacle of it all.
