We stayed in Chao Long village just outside Yangshuo and I am soooooo glad that we did. We had beautiful scenery to wake up to and sounds of cockrels and crickets, where as if you stayed in town then you would of struggled to go to sleep for the booming music and neon lights. My photos taken in Feb 2009 were at day time. At night, the West Street was busy with people selling souvenirs, foods & drinks, etc. Music from bars plus some staff dancing in front of the bars made the street very lively. Restaurants brought tables out at night for guests to sit. They have menus in English. From memory, price... more
