Definately worth a visit and some pictures. Didnt go inside and didnt see much in the way of a historical marker there either. There was a lot of information on it inside the Institute itself though. more

The visit to the 16th street church was a highlight of my trip to Birmingham. The man giving the tour knew Martin Luther King, Jr and was in his congregation in Atlanta when news was received of the bombing at the 16th street church. The presentation (including video) was very instructive and compelling. Tours on Saturday are by appointment only,... more

unfortunately we arrived at the church late on sunday pm..the good news is that we met a very gracious member of the church who took her time to discuss the history of the church with us and gave us insights on the past and present in re to the 4 young girls who were murdered there..she also told us about... more
