This has got to be one of the best science centers in the country, especially if you have kids. I have to say that it's probably geared towards younger kids; however, the adults were having a good time, too. It's 4 floors. We spent 3.5 hours there and never made it to one of the floors. It's a very interactive,... more

This place is absolutely awesome! We had the best time here. There was a lady on the staff named Betty. She was the sweetest lady and made a big fuss over us after she found out we had come to see McWayne all the way from Toronto, ON Canada. The exhibits were amazing, and the new shark and manta/sting ray... more

This is really a fun place! It has a wide range of things to do. Very interactive. Designed for a range of ages: lots for toddlers, lots that appeals to the kindergarten set and quite a bit for older kids as well as adults. If it were really crowded it might not be as enjoyable since its very hands on,... more

Extremely disappointed with the picture quality and format viewing this action film in an Imax theater. The film clarity was poor. We had a prime seating position and had difficulty following the films action on this large curved screen. It is clear that the seating position is too close to the screen leading to poor peripheral vision capability. The sould... more

We brought our 4 year old & 6 year old daughters here. They had a fantastic time. There was so many fun things for them to see and do that we were not able to get to all of them. Our girls were fascinated by the many interactive exhibits that the museum had to offer. If we lived nearby, we... more

Today with the IMAX theater experience for our family and our friends with us we had the very best birthday outing. All the staff were so helpful, the kids (2,3, 4, 5, 7) and parents all thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits and exploration activities. more

We loved this place--nice, new exhibits, good balance of text to buttons and other interactive stuff--interesting ways of presenting scientific material. we spent about 4 hours there when the museum was not really crowded and had a chance to do everything. DO NOT MISS this activity if you are touring Birmingham with young children. more

The kids really enjoyed this center. However there were 2 issues that we had: 1) There isn't enough staff to ensure that children get a chance to see each display. There were kids running around unattended and wouldn't "share" the displays so we unfortunately missed out on some of them because of this. 2) It is advertised as 4 stories... more

Birmingham is centrally located for our family to meet here. This was a geat place to meet and take they grandchildren. There was something for all ages and they children loved it. The IMAX was nice, too. Plan on paying $5 for parking, also, per vehicle. Do skip the Movies Cafe if you can. The health rating was in the... more
