The Giant Buddha national park is the "Chinese Valley of the Kings". It is a large park that you should explore. Most people only go to see the Giant Buddha which is spectacular but the Sleeping Buddha, monastery, temples, shrines and statues are worth the hike and are magical. more

We took a bus from Chengdu to Leshan and stayed two nights at the Jiazhou Hotel . A reasonable 3-star hotel for around RMB 200 a night. It is a km from the Giant Buddha.
