This is a real adventure to get to and well worth the time. The falls number in the hundreds, possibly thousands, from small to huge. Lots of walking, so wear your all-terrain hiking boots... no flip-flops or sandals. We did the "E" walk from Entance 2 which took about 2 1/2 hours. Other walks can take 4-6-8 hours. We went... More

We visited in mid May. This park is a beautiful, well managed, but a long day of walking. You will forget you have been hiking all day. Wonderfully clean, attention to every detail for visitors, clean trails and WC, boat/train transport...everything you need for a full day of enjoying the park. We took the Entrance 2 and walked the whole... More

A beautiful day of walkng through waterfalls. We were advised to take the first ferry and the train on the route back, but walked both sections. It is a long day of walking if you do this, but certainly possible to cover this much ground without feeling rushed if you start by 10 a.m. and it will get you away... More

It is very beautiful. There is a fair bit of walking required with benches few and far between in the waterfall area as there is nowhere to put them. However, there are good flat walkways and you do not have to do all the trails, you can choose to do a shortish one and still get to see plenty of... More

We (extended family with teen-aged children) spent a day at the Plitvice lakes in May. Pros: - The nature is great. - The park is well-managed and clean. - Good organization of boat/train transportation within the park. - Bathrooms are orderly and clean. Cons: - Unpleasant staff at the entrance/ticket office. This is really a shame, as these lakes are... More

Forget about getting lost in an idilic remote location: plitvice lakes can only been visited on pre-stablished tours, and those can get quite crowded in summer months. Forget about swimming in those incredible blue waters: it's absolutely forbidden. Apart from that, plitvice lakes are worth a visit. Some pieces of advice: take good shoes, as the floor can get slippery,... More

From what I understand, this park is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Ranked in the top 10. There is an "easy" trail and one a little more difficult. We took the more difficult, which was not all that difficult. You walk to the bottom and climb back up. I saw many elderly folks doing it.... More

We stayed in Zagreb but decided to make the 2.5hr bus trip to the lakes on the recommendation of a friend. We did half of it in a day, but you really needed two days to see it all. It's difficult to describe the beauty - innumerable lakes, crystal clear water, waterfalls cascading everywhere. We were there in off-season (April)... More

As a very big trek we were allowed to enjoy the lonliness of the trek...it is a pcture perfect place and it is visual treat to your eyes... The air around the place makes to feel the beauty with birds, fishes and trees encircled by the fall...
