As a practicing Catholic I was stunned by the 4€ charge to enter. Don't mind leaving a few € for upkeep but really? Is this the way to go? We opted to attend a mass instead. I was curious to see if they would charge for mass... They didn't!!

Worth the visit. Be sure to take the guided tour (English available), and see the Mosaics in the church

Why paying for visiting a church?! It was unpleasant surprise to see you have to pay an admitance to visit basilica! And the price 30 kunas (= 4 euros) is sky high!

Laid back feel to the place, very interesting and relaxing, allowed to wander freely about the place and take some time studying the murals etc.Not crowded

Well worth the visit, hidden little treasure in the back streets. Nice to see the mosiacs and how they are being preserved.
