The mosaics in the basilica are truly amazing. Like Ravenna and the various Norman churches in Sicily, the Porec mosaics have come down to us in a very well preserved state. While certainly not at the same level of splendor as those sites, Porec is well worth a visit by anyone interested in medieval church art and architecture in general... more
