My husband and I ventured out to Bon Secour on our recent trip to Gulf Shores. The refuge is one of the stops along the Alabama Costal Briding Trail. My 2 teen age sons were tired of the beach and wanted to do something a little more "gnarly". Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge was just the ticket. It was an easy stroll for their old Mom but the scenery is much more interesting and wild. We walked for hours the first day we discovered the park and then came back... more

Ok, Bon Secour is technically not part of Gulf Shores, but if you're visiting Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, you might want to check out the two-mile Pine Beach Trail.
