Really enjoyed the birds and monkeys in the reserve. Unfortunately we did not see many other mammals (most likely due to wet season). If possible do a night-walk; so many beautiful animals you would not want to find in your cabana...

The Cuyabeno is little known by Americans but it should be famous. You are in the heart of the Amazon and you can see all of the Amazonian animals easily from the comfort of a boat of hiking through the Jungle. Once in a lifetime place to visit.

We stayed with the Siona Lodge and it was fantastic. Completely eco-friendly, completely clean, and well thought out schedule and plan. The capacity of this lodge is less than others in the reserve and it felt like we were really on a private tour. I traveled here with one other friend, the rooms were clean and pretty much bug free!... More

I booked the trip directly at the Dracaena Office in Quito. The english speaking gentlemen at the office (called Andres I think) was very nice and took his time to explain the trip to us and even walked to the bus station with us making sure another traveller that wanted to join in last minute got a ticket for the... Magic River Tours packaged a fishing trip for us in Jan 2012 to the Aguas Negras Lodge on the Rio Cuyabeno. The fishing was simply awesome, and the guides excellent, knowledgeable, and above all, seriously conservation-minded. Cook Wilson produced far more than we could eat of his great meals. Accommodation was basic, but comfortable and everything worked very well. We... More

We just got back from a month-long trip in Ecuador which began with a fishing trip to the enchanting Cuyabeno Reserve. We chose Kingfisher Tours to help us find the fish! Diego and his staff did that and so much more! We caught a great variety of fish(and released them!), ate wonderful meals, prepared by Tomas, and were expertly chauffeured... More

I met up in late January with my father and brother to travel Ecuador. I live in the US and my family in Argentina so we are bilingual. We booked our stay with Nicky Lodge through galapagos last minute in Quito. The gentleman there suggested Nicky lodge over the others because unlike many of the other tours it is nestled... More
