We walked to the temple en route to Cleopatra's Spring. It's pretty cool when it appears on the horizon as you walk towards it, and seeing as it is built on top of a hill/mountain it seems even more impressive when you're on the road that curves at its base. The villages en route were interesting, yet the children who... More

If you are visiting Siwa this is an absolute must. This is such an old temple and is just amazing. I enjoyed the most amazing experience here. The views are spectacular, the village surrounding the temple is great to see and the children are friendly and will come and chat to you.

OK, I am an anthropologist so 'ruins' get me, but this one is fun, because it lets you see how the priests manipulated the visitors. You can see how the priests got the oracle to 'speak', and how the offerings 'disappeared'. I don't know whether Alexander the Great was fooled, but I was entertained!

It's a ruin. There isn't much there but the view of the desert. If you have never seen a ruin or a desert, fine. I have seen much better ruins in much better places. Siwa was a waste of time.

This is a small Temple built in the Graeco Roman Period - It's wisdom was so sought after that Alexander the Great made a special trip out there to consult the Oracle and gain answers to some of his questions. The Temple is situated on the top of a hill, and is quite small by Egyptian standards, comprising three sanctuaries... More
