The highlight of our visit to Munnar was going to Eravikulam National Park. There was a long line to get in, but the visit was worth it. We got to see the endangered Nilgiri Tahr at touching distance. The best part of the visit was the climb to the top. In fact it would have been even better if there... More

We had to waste 3 hours in a long queue in scorching heat to board the mini bus service run by Kerala Forest Department. The place is not well managed and there is nothing much to be seen at the National Park. One can easily skip it.

A trip first by your vehicle then one has to climb the hill oneself high up till the lung burst with enjoyment there. It is extremely charming and construction yet in progress .A sight of Thar[a deer]is considered lucky. Many climb the hill till the near end which is a forest to see a Thar deer. One can rest in between near the... Located near Munnar this park is abode of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (Wild Goats) .The climb to the park is through very scenic tea gardens and is very nice. It was raining when we went and surprisingly cold. We missed the jacket/pullover and umbrellas which would have been handy. The compulsory paid bus service to the top is not frequent... More

Own vehicle is not allowed and the park is closed for some time during the year for breeding. Check thoroughly with the park authorities before planning

There is a paid bus ride which is mandatory to visit the park, arranged by the forest dept. They just have 6 mini buses, wasn't enough to cater the crowds during peak seasons/holidays. We tried couple of times during the May-day long weekend but couldn't. The queues are way longer that you have to wait in queue for half a... More

I visited this with my family and enjoyed heavy rain on the way. Different animals were there, but we couldn't go much ahead as it was raining too much. Wonderful experience !! There should be Jeep Safari inside by Forest Department, so kids can enjoy a lot over there.

This was a terrible waste of our time. It took us 1 hour in the queue for tickets plus 1 hour of trekking plus another 1 hour of waiting for the return bus all to view a herd of Nilgiri Tahr(looks like a goat) that had already wandered to the uphill road where we got a good look at it.
