We only had a couple of hours to spend in Koh Lanta Old Town but could have easily spent a couple of days. It was quaint, clean, quiet, with a background buzz. Lanta Old Town is a charming enough little spot to do a day trip to. We hired a small 4wd and enjoyed the drive from the main town over east to Old Lanta. You get a real sense of local living as you whizz past houses and kids and goats and lush bushland. We were there off season (October/November) so... more

Very good review of Old Town but last paragraph is not acurate. Old Town is open all year as are all the business' based in the town. In the 'low' season Old Town is a great place to stay as it's on the East coast of Ko Lanta and well protected from the monsoon winds. The sea remains calm and...
