In the past 9 months I have been a guest at BLES on 2 seperate yet equally exciting occassions. I have tried several times to put my experiences into words but i just dont think its possible! It is the most beautiful, hospitable place i have ever been! Katherine Connor and her loving family are truly unique and the most... More

This was my first trip to Thailand and my first trip to BLES; and like so many others it certainly will not be my last. A dream my Mother and I had held for so long was to visit an elephant sanctuary and last November we lived out that dream. When we arrived at BLES (roughly 1hr by car from... More

This is my 3rd lovely visit to the BLES family. Katherine and Anon, the Mahouts, the staff, and of course, the family of now 14 rescued elephants, welcome only a few guests at a time and integrate us into the daily life of the sanctuary. Most of the lovely elephants, were rescued from abuse or neglect. In a few cases,... More

We pulled up there(having had a hard and fun time finding it!)to find elephants just hanging around the grounds. It was probably in my top ten of the most favorite things i've done in my 47 years. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but it was so amazing. Walking, bathing and feeding the elephants, all with their own story.... More

BLES is the only sanctuary in Thailand that puts the well-being of elephants first. There are no performances — just elephants being elephants. Katherine and her husband and their two children would welcome you and treat you like their own family. The BLES is so relaxed, so peaceful. There are no tourists, you can freely enjoy the joy of being... More

There's not a lot I can add to what people who have loved BLES have aleady written. If you want to get close to elephants, learn more about them both as a species and as individulas, then this is for you. We spent our time watching them, scrubbing them clean in their 'shower', feeding them, walking with them in the... More

There is something magical about BLES, from the welcoming arms of Katherine and her family, to the special ambience of being around such magestic creatures: the elephants. There is no such thing as an average day, which makes for an exciting experience. You can help out with treatments, bathing or preparing food for the elephants or you can just relax.... More

I spent a magical five days at BLES in August 2011. Upon my arrival Katherine greeted me with a big hug and welcomed me into the BLES family…and what a family it is! Katherine and her husband Anon have created a real life nirvana for the thirteen elephants currently in their care ~ elephants that were rescued from their former... More

If you love elephants this is the place to visit. Katherine Connor and her husband Anon have dedicated their lives to helping the plight of Thailand's over worked, abused sick elephants. Currently home to 13 elephants, Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary (BLES) has rescued many elephants that otherwise would be dead without their intervention. You stay in your own lovely cabin... More
