We only had four days in Bangkok as a stop over on our way to Australia but this was our first visit to Thailand and we really wanted to see something outside of the city! This turned out to be the perfect choice - just over 3 hours drive from Bangkok but it felt like we were in a different... More

Visiting this national park was for me one of the best trips I've made for a long time. Being a bird watcher, this park, which is said to be larger than the island of Singapore, boasts some 390 bird species. It is located some two-and-a-half hours away from Bangkok, in the north-east direction, if you go by car. The air... More

large parts of the rain forest in thailand is gone: large rubber or oil tree plantations dominate the scenery and can be depressing - they are biological deserts and a huge part of the inundation problems. but there's some national parks where you can still get a taste of the breathtaking nature of southern asia: trees as high as skyscrapers,... They say it's only 3 hours outside of Bangkok, which is probably true if you hop in a car and drive yourself there. We took a coach trip booked through Viator and it was an amazing day but I was hoping to see a little more of the national park. Our guide was called "Sharky" and he started by taking... More

On a previous visit I drove to Chalk Chai farm and on my way back from there I drove all the way to the entrance of Khao Yai, Thailand’s second biggest national park. There was not sufficient time to look further on that occasion and I promised myself that I would return. With that in mind, on this occasion, I... More

We were lucky enough to have a great guide take us to Khao Yai for a day trip. The park is a natural pleasure with waterfalls, wildlife, and foliage galore. It was such a nice change from the bustle of Bangkok and afforded us great photos and wildlife sightings. We are nature lovers and getting to experience this park was... More

We visited KhaoYai National Park in a group. We stopped at Mo Sing To Reservoir. This place is the home of Red-wattled Lapwing and Red Jungle fowl and Hornbills. We were told that at the reservoir we can locate migrating wader here if we are lucky. Plenty of open country birds can be seen around this place. This place is a well-known... More

I should preface my review by saying that this will be a review of only the national park itself, and not the experience of getting here and dealing with accomodation/food/etc. I visited Khao Yai with a Thai family, in their private car, using their camping gear, and ate food that we had brought from their home. This in itself changes... More

We entered the park at the Pak Chong side, driving our own car and willing and prepared to spend a few days in the natural beauty that was promised in the information we got about Khao Yai. It was Sundaymorning and after a long trip over busy and overcrowded highway 304 and the road from Wang Nam Khieo to Pak... More
