loved the location and the ambience, could spend the hole day sitting at the cafes and in the park..a great place to relax and contemplate life.
Lovely pond-side location, atmospheric at night until the DJ starts to blast. Food about average, waiters never been trained to be attentive. Buffet good value, and faster than a la carte. Mosquitoes can be a problem. Not cheap by local standards.
If u r in Bukhara, this is a must see place. U can have an idea about how the life would have been 400 - 500 years back.
A lot of historical places are there around a central pond.
Dont forget to see 500 years old trees.
There is a nice buffet restaurant just by the pond, which is not...

Opt for the buffet dinner, great value for money, wide choice, and you can eat as much as you wish.
This I presume is an old public watering place for the city, today surrounded with cafes (serving booze too) and restaurants, and shaded by trees. Set amid the old buildings, it really is a very pleasant place to while away some time and get a feel for the ambience - (even if the old men who used to come here...

The Lyab-I-Hauz is a body of water enclosed by the streets and walkways of central Bukhara. It is, apparently, an ancient catchment for water and may be some 100 feet on a side.
It is certainly pleasant to look at and the tiny cafes on its rim are perfect places to relax.
