Any Aussie planning on touring the Cu Chi tunnels MUST tour with TNK with SLIM JIM as your guide. Tossing Aussie slang into his informative dialogue is such a hoot. The tunnels are a must visit part of the Vietnam experience and Slim Jim adds the finishing touches. Cu Chi area was where families, neighbours and towns were divided into... more

Recently returned from Vietnam and one of the highlights was the Cu Chi Tunnels about 1 1/2 hour outside of Saigon. After seeing a video, one of the many guides takes you around the area to explore what life was like for the Viet Cong who lived and fought in the tunnel network that was begun when they were fighting... more

The network of underground tunnels here is just phenomenal. It is amazing to think that really not that long ago whole families were living and surviving in these tunnels. You even get to try out their food and 'tunnel tea.' Be warned don't buy the cute mini bullet keyrings...as these had to be removed from baggage in the hold! more

For an old Soldier (RAE) who served in Vietnam a visit to the tunnels of Cu Chi was both chilling and memorable at the same time. These tunnels, nearly 250 km in length housed the Viet Cong fighters that were attacking the American Forces in nearby Saigon and other bases in and around the city. To see what the VC... more

I went on a half day tour to Cu Chi to see the tunnels. I had no expectations and I had heard good and bad things about it. The tour guide we had through the Sinh Cafe was fantastic. He was informative and had a good sense of humour. The trip was a couple of hours from De Tham in... more

A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels complex (about an hours bus journey from central Saigon), offers a fascinating insight into the lives and suffering of the local people during the Vietnam conflict. Whatever your views on the rights and wrongs of the fighting it is almost impossible not to admire the courage, ingenuity and determination with which the 'Vietcong'... more

Paid $5US for a bus tour to this attraction and entry to it is also $5US roughly. Can't complain about the price. The downside of the tour (I hate tours) is the half-hour stop over at the lacquer factory/shop. You might get a good tour guide but our's was annoying. He never shut up and would say things like "... more

Having an interest in the Vietnam war I was desperate to go and see the Cu Chi tunnels but have to say this is the biggest disappointment from our whole trip. The tunnels have stairways and lights and brick doorways which isn't anything like how the tunnels were originally. You get to see examples of weapons used by Viet Cong... more

Went to Cu Chi tunnels with our 3 kids 3 weeks ago. Had an amazing day and also visited the Cai Dai temple on a tour the same day. The tunnels were incredible and hard to imagine that people lived in there for so long .... enjoyed going through the tunnels although it was lucky the tunnels had been widened... more

As part of our Vietnam trip we decided that we had to check out the Cu Chi tunnels and we are all very glad that we did. Prior to getting to the tunnels themselves you are taken through a jungle walk that shows different ways that the VC lived during the time of the war, from cooking bunkers to weapons... more
