Hire a local guide (they're hanging around everywhere) to give you a tour. Much better this way.

The site is interesting and lovely to walk around. You get a wonderful view from top of the hill and life in an old fortress. The site feels a bit run down for a UNESCO site. There is no descriptions to tell you what it is (not even in french). There are the usual tourist stores near the lower floors.
