Fascinating UNESCO site, residents all have their hands out to be paid for pictures, reminds me of the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, watch out for the shop owners across the stream/river. Great pictures can be taken here and the fact that Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator were made at this site makes it even more interesting.
We spent Christmas day in quiet Ait Ben Haddou. The UNESCO site is very well preserved, but sadly like many tourists, we were scammed by some locals who blocked one of the gates into believing that we had to pay to get in. We even asked for proof of an official ticket, which turned out to be fake. When I...

He swung us by Ait Ben Haddou at nearly sunset on a clear and windy evening, and we were humbled as we watched the...

Kasbah has become a world-famous village due to its picturesque setting over the new village, the salt river and the desert. The old village of Kasbah is inhabited by 8 families. There is no electricity or running water in...

Busy but not spoiled by other visitors, with tourist shops and stalls but not intrusive or harrassing. Pleasanyt approach over the river and a nice cafe to relax in afterwards. Can't compleain for the equivalent of 1 Euro! Visit this if you...

The people in the Ksar block the gates so you have to pay to go though their houses into this attraction. The front part is tarted up from some movie, and doesn't match the rest.
You are continually urged to come into one store or another. We had a wonderful 2 week trip to Morocco and this was the only...
